Frontier network issue

Updated: Nov 4, 2020

We began getting reports of issues yesterday that appear to be related to a Frontier network problem that is causing phones to lose registration, typically after an internet outage. We emailed a technical supervisor, called the repair department and found out they have an unknown issue they are trying to trace and repair. We are determining if there are work arounds until they can resolve the issue and will stay in contact with our findings and theirs.

Please be patient as we work with this internet service provider (ISP).

If you would like to discuss back up internet and phone services we are here to help. From dedicated fiber to wireless line of site we have options for you if internet is mission critical to your business.

10/29/20 9:12AM PT Update: Frontier found the issue and where applicable we are making adjustments to customers with outages to get services working properly again. We are happy they were able to find the issue and are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We are here to work with all service providers on behalf of our clients, to the extent we are allowed. Continue to use https://downdetector.com/status/frontier/map/ in the future if you experience a service outage.

10/28/20 3:47PM PT Update: Frontier believes the issue lies with customers on old Verizon static public IP addresses. Their resolution at this time is to call customer support to report the issue and request to change your static public IP address to a Frontier supplied static public IP address. You can continue to monitor https://downdetector.com/status/frontier/map/ for Frontier issue updates.

10/28/20 2:13PM PT Update: We were able to trace the underlying issue back to a Level 3 router in Seattle for one account, so please report to us if you are still experiencing service issues/outage and we will report to the Frontier tech helping with the issue.

10/26/20 9:54AM PT Update: We are following up with known affected customers and it appears there is at least still a partial Frontier issue. So we are following up internally and with Frontier to determine issue resolution estimated completion timeframe.

10/23/20 4:05PM PT Update: The link below shows the Frontier outage in our area as well as a large part of Southern California. Keep checking it to see when it is repaired.

10/23/20 12:40PM PT Update: We are in communication with Frontier and our customers, so keep checking periodically

Thank you,

TVC management
