Underlying Carrier Outage

Updated: Sep 30, 2021

There is an issue with Bandwidth, an underlying carrier, that is affecting audio with several service providers. We are working on an ETA for repair and it is affecting our service as well.

Here is a link to Bandwidth update on the issue https://status.bandwidth.com/

Also there is a Frontier issue in Murrieta affecting internet for some Murrieta Frontier customers.

Happy Monday!

9/27/21 1:30PM PT = Bandwidth is continuing to trace the root of the issue, so there is not an estimated time of repair yet.

2:36PM PT = Bandwidth teams have observed Toll-Free Messaging operate as designed. We will continue to monitor Toll-Free Messaging..

2:49PM PT = Bandwidth teams continue to actively investigate this network incident.

4:05PM PT Update - Bandwidth teams have observed expected 911 calling behavior. We will continue to monitor for 911 call stability.

4:28PM PT = Monitoring - Bandwidth teams are currently observing expected network behavior. Our teams will continue to monitor for network stability.

TVC service has restored and we are getting reports that others are as well!

9/28/21 8:46AM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

This appears to be affecting fewer customers and outgoing calls are mostly working since most service providers are routing outgoing calls to other underlying carriers.

10:10AM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

11AM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

TVC is getting less notifications of issues and calls seem to be working better. Hopefully this is a sign that the issue is being rectified.

Here is an article one of our techs and another service provider found on the issue: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/bandwidthcom-is-latest-victim-of-ddos-attacks-against-voip-providers/

11:53AM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

12:52PM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

3:58PM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

We are hearing fewer reports of issues but nothing confirmed found and repaired on Bandwidths end yet.

5:07PM PT Update - Bandwidth teams are actively investigating an incident impacting Standard Voice and V2 Voice calls with intermittent service disruptions.

From what I saw yesterday this meant they did not have it taken care of 100%.

9/29/21 8:52AM PT Update - Bandwidth is currently investigating an incident impacting inbound calls from Verizon Wireless to the Bandwidth network. Inbound calls may experience intermittent failures.

From the latest update there are still issues receiving calls from Verizon Wireless, but we have not seen or heard reports of service issues this morning. At least one of our service providers is expediting moving main numbers from Bandwidth.com to another underlying carrier but hopefully the fix is already in place with Bandwidth.com. We will continue to monitor and report.

5:53PM PT Identified - Bandwidth has identified the cause of service disruptions for Standard Voice Calls. We are currently observing standard network and call behavior for 911 Calls, Messaging, Portals & APIs and will continue to monitor those services for continued stability. 6:22PM PT Monitoring - Bandwidth teams are observing expected network behavior with successful call completion. We will continue to monitor and provide updates accordingly.

9/30/21: We had very few reported issues yesterday. One of our service providers expedited moving main numbers from Bandwidth.com to another underlying carrier which should be completed today. So if there are any additional attacks on Bandwidth.com you may still experience issues if calling someone who is still with them or someone calls a direct/back line, but at this time it appears the issue has been mitigated.
